Also Allstate Carburetor in NY. I purchased a carb from them several years ago & was very satisified. Bill

Howdy Falcon Critter:

To answer your question, yes. The YFs used on 250 engines after about '74 until they were replaced had a larger T-bore. As did the Carter RBS version used from 1970 to '74. Also I think the YFs used on 240 and 300 sixes had a larger tbore. HOpe That helps.

Howdy again:

All YFs that I have have a Tbore of 1.69" or 1 11/16". They first appeared in the Ford six line of engines in 1970 on the Calif/Em 170 engines. Yfs became the standard Ford six carb for 170s and 200 in 1970. All of my YFs are later so it may be that the earlier ones on the 170 had a smaller tbore. That's the best I can do for you.

Just to supplement the confusion, Here's some Carter YF pages with rebuild specs for Ford, GM, and AMC/Intl, Willys' applications YF's starting in 1949 including the sidedraft version YH used on triple carb Vette's - sixes of course... .

These are 70's YF and unknown YF from E-pay I experimented with on a tri-power. These both have nominal 1-3/4" bore (I-11/16th?)

"Mav" YF was on a '71 - 170 and runs so well it's my choice for initial startup' on cold rebuilds...
