More specifically are these engines the same size?
I am selling my old 250 pre cross flow, and have someone that wants to put it into an xm flacon coupe.
is this easily done?

a flacon coupe !

fairly simple swap:

the australian 250 and 221 are roughly the same size - the 250 is about 1" ( maybe 3/4 ") taller and has a longer water pump.

so if they swapping from a 221 to a 250 will probably have to use a thermo fan in front of the rad and the exhaust may raise up 1" as well

however if it has the orig 170 /144 engine in and a 3 speed manual or 2 speed auto it will/may have a 'narrow' engine block with a narrow gearboxes belhousing - the the xm /xp were a change over between wide aqnd narrow - so can get a mixture- XR onwards were 'wide egines and boxes

whereas the 221/250 has a wide block.

adapter plates can be got to go from 'narrow' motor to 'wide' gearbox

but if its 'narrow box' and 'wide' motor then its a new wide box req

BUT if its the 3 speed fordo matic( similair to the BW35) its a wide gearbox

confused ?

let us know what the combo is /will be .

probably better posting in the 'aust sixes' site on this forum as the USA never had the 221

or the aust early falcon group
