ya im back... with another problem.i havent even started to work on the ticking (bays at work are being used and my garage is too cold...i know im lazy) my cars also been leaking oil and it too is getting worse theres so much oil and crap under the motor/trans area i have no idea where its coming from i guess i should pull the pan replace the gasket and make sure the pan lip is flat.. anything else i should be looking at? and commom places for leaks in the mustang?

easiest way to do it would be to clean the engine (simple green does wonders) and then drive it for a while and see what leaks

most common would prolly be the valve cover, if not that maybe the oil pressure sending unit?
your plug is all the way in, right? i had that problem once

well i guess tonight ill clean it drive it to school and back and see whats goin on before i go to the parts store to get gasket sealant, marvel's, and some high temp engine paint (the pan among other things is flaking)

well i crawled under there and there is alittle coming from the valve cover...but there is more coming down from the back of the oil panwhere it meets the tranny ill do some cleaning tonight but i forgot geaket sealant when i went to the store...

oh ya im was looking at the brace that goes under the pan and thinking how i was going to get the pan out...am i going to get the front past the sway bar or will i have to take that off too?

Chandler,
You should be able to remove the pan without removing the brace or the sway bar (at least you can on a 65). If you do have to remove one, I'd remove the brace; it's only two bolts (it may require some heat, though!).

i think i can get one bolt off no problem bc it has been marinating in oil dripping while the oher is bone dry...anyone have a pic of the underisde of a 65...id like to see if they are similar..it seems unlikely that i could pull it without removing anything else...now that i thank about it can i disconect the steering linkage and slide it out the back...it looks like a cotter pin and a nut holding it in which would be easier than pulling the cross brace

Sorry Chandler, I'm a liar !

I've just gone out to look, and you do have to remove the stabilizer. I really don't remember having to do that. But that is all, you don't have to remove the brace or any steering bits.
