Howdy Raghead:
And welcome to the Forum:
The DSII will adapt fine. the problem is that it is not completely compatible with your stock OEM 1100 Autolite carb with a Spark Control Valve (SCV).
The SCV sends a modified vacuum signal to the stock OEM Load-a-Matic distributor. Some, on this forum, have sent a manifold vacuum signal to the distributor for vacuum advance with good results, but for an otherwise stock engine that will supply too much advance at high vaccum situations.
Also regap your plugs to .045" or .050" to take advantage of the DSII stronger spark.
Next think about upgrading your stock Autolite 1100 for an 1101 from a '69 Mustang with a 250 engine. It has no SCV and can send the proper vacuum signal to the carb. You'll be pleasantly pleased at the improvement with the DSII and the 1101.
Enjoy the journey.
Adios, David
