Has anybody figured out to replace a small shaft dizzy with a DSII. My sons 62 falcon has the original 170 that we put pertronix in and swapped to a later Holley 1101 with no SCV so he has no advance. Can a DSII ba made to fit the small shaft block. Thanks Rich.
Sand down the DS2 where it goes in the block. Doesn't take too much, like 1/64" or something. Test fit it often and you should be fine. Or ream out the hole. But it's cheaper to replace the distributor if you go too far.
8) dont forget to replace the oil pump and drive shaft with ones from a later six as well. remember the early engines used a 1/4" shaft and the later engines used a 5/16" shaft.
So get a DSII machine down the end of the shaft and get a newer oil pump and shaft. I think I can handle that. Now he has another shopping list. Thanks.
