Duraspark II CONVERSION

Did DII conversion in september. Car ran ok until december, always had problems starting the car. Then found out I never eliminated pink wire from ignition. When I changed wire I did not disconnect battery first and got a spark from the pigtail on the ignition switch when I plugged in the direct line from the ballist. Since then I get no engine turn over, all it does now is buzz at the solenoid when I turn the key. I have replaced distributor, solenoid, ignition switch, starter and even tried putting old pink wire back in, nothing works. Tried in park and neutral, no difference. Advance is set at 13 degrees, plugs gapped a .55

Any suggestions?

Car is a 66 mustang, inline 6, 200ci, automatic C4 tranny, weber 32/36 dual carb conversion with electric choke.
 
ok start by making sure the battery is at full charge. next regap the plugs to .040", thats best for performance on an older engine.
 
I converted to a 1wire alternator in september as part of the overhaul to get the car running after sitting for 25 years so the stock voltage regulator is unplugged and I was supposed to hard wire an ammeter but have not done that yet.
 
So if you have a 3G then the VR is on the back of the alternator.
Maybe take it to an auto electric shop for a test.
I don't trust those part stores machines. Got a negative on what turned out to be a good alternator.
 
Get a test light & a voltage tester & start finding where you have power at each turn of the ignition switch.
Get the battery tested??
Make sure you have a decent ground wire from the engine to the body.
After that you should seek professional help.
