Normal mode with this install, is to bypass the factory-fitted resistive wire.
If that's how you want to go, best practice is to use the original ignition wire to operate a constantly-on relay that switches 12V from the battery, directly to your coil. An auto electrician will be able to supply the best relay and socket for this level of duty.
You can use any 12V coil with the Duraspark, but the higher-spec aftermarket ones might allow more plug gap, and slightly improved fuel economy.
