Early distributor vacuum advance to holley carb?

I know this is here somewhere but can't seem to locate it specifically. I have the holley 2300/500 and the old load-a-matic distributor. I wanted to use the load-a-matic because I didn't want to wire up the duraspark wrong and risk too many start up attempts on a new cam break-in. I know the specifics of the load-a-matic and the necessary scv on the 1100. But at low to middle rpms for break in purposes shouldn't I be able to hook up the load-a-matic to one of the base vacuum lines on the holley 2300? If so, which would be best---I have located three.

I have the same problem, I was just going to put on the old distributor w/Holly 4421/500 and hoped it worked. :? I thought about buying the DUI performance package from Mike, I wanted to wiat untill I got the new engine running though. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

For startup, just set base timing at 10-12°, leaving off the vac altogether. Rotate it a little when running to get the best RPMs. I can understand your desire to simplify it; this is about as easy as it can be made.
