effect of a 1.6 rocker change

I have the 1.65 ratio rockers on a modified head with a totally stock bottom end, cam included. I made all of those changes at once so it is hard to say how much was rockers and how much was headwork, but the net result was good. I picked up several hundred rpm at the top end, and more power all around. My old head had 56cc chamber and my new one 51.5cc, so that modest boost in compression helped. That said, given the price of these rockers, next time I will spend my money on a cam instead.

From what I am reading here it seems I probably would not see a significant difference running a hyd cam designed for 1.6 rockers when run with my stock rockers (1.55? ).

Stockers are 1.5. Not much peak power, but looked like significant gains under the curve. Which is where you drive most of the time. A cam swap would do the same thing, though.

Well, i just got back from the track and here is what I can tell you. I ran consistent 16.30's all day long, with weather similiar to my first outing with the modified log head and 1.5 rockers. That first day I only ran one pass that was a 16.30 ish time, the rest were 16.50's and 16.40's. Now were today's times a reflection on the 1.6 rockers? Who knows...all I know is the seat of the pants feel is better with them and I was happy with my results today. I also set a new personal best...but only by a few hundredths. Here is the best slip from today:
