electric fan

I am using a 15 inch from autozone. It's the type you mount straight on to the rad and it works pretty good. Ran it as a puller off my old rear window wiper switch and have had no problem. If you run it off a switch, just remember to turn it on and off, or u'll have a dead battery, of like me an engine bay fire. But overall, way better than clutch fan.

I used a 16"spal low profile pusher fan.http://www.spalusa.com with a jegs fan contoller on my 64 falcon.it's been my only source of cooling and with the temps in the upper 90s here it has kept cool even when running the engine hard.the main thing when choosing a fan is to make sure it moves enough air ( CFM s) to cool your engine. most companies go by engine size and if its used as a primary or auxillery source of cooling to determine what size to use.the last pic shows the circut breaker and relay installed. one wire from the relay to the ignition switch.the fan comes on automaticly at 185 degrees and off at 165 degrees. I am running a 180 degree thermostat.

I have a stock fan on my I6 car, but the 302 powered one is running a junkyard fan from a 1997 pontiac grand-am, relatively low profile and hasn't had any problems with overheating even when running the engine hard and 100+ degree temps...

I used a cheap controller from Summit, works great

I'm looking to use an electric fan (with shroud) that I got from a Saturn SC2 I salvaged for parts on my 82 Fairmont with a 200 .
Looks like I'll be able to fit it with very little fab work.
I'm already running a 2 row radiator from a GT mustang (20 bucks at salvage and it was brand new with sticker showing date of manufacture).
Just wanna know where you installed the temp sensor.
I have an opening in the water outlet neck and one in the elbow going to the water heater off the passenger side of the block.
Not sure which would give the most reliable reading.
Any info you can share would be appreciated.
Thanx.
