the pacemakers FSPP has (or had) are very nice. One note, spend the extra money to get it ceramic coated. Keeps them looking VERY nice (oh, an it does keep the underhood temps down a lot.
Mufflers. Unless you want very loud (like louder then a stock GT500), stay as far away from any flowmasters as you can. Even the 3 chambers I got are very loud. Nice sound, not raspy at all, just very loud.
If you want that sound, I'll have 2 mufflers for sale in a few weeks.

I hate my single flowmaster - sure it sounds nice at idle and wot, but has a nasty resonance at cruise which i can no longer stand. i am going to switch to dual out and different mufflers.

one question - should i replace the entire set up as i am running a sinlge 2 1/4 pipe or add another 2 1/4 pipe (i thought 2 1/4 was too big for dual out)

Duals sound better hands down. Not only my oppinion but the oppinion of most Ive talked too. Ive got dual Flows and Im still not sick of any resonance... but thats just me, lol. My Cousin got a single Flowmaster 40 on his Tacoma six banger and the resonance on that on the interstate will give you a headache FAST...but we still love it, lol. Go duals, even if you dont go Flowmaster, at least go dual out. You planning on using a dual out header?

i have no idea what muffler mine has but its a single out and it sounds like a motorcycle when your not at idle or wot. has anyone tried those new hushpower muffs?

I have a maverick with a 250 straight 6 and im lookin at upgradin my exhaust and intake right now too. how much for the flowmaster mufflers and wat model is it i need 2 if available im doing dual. im looking at getting the pacemaker headers and either havin em dual or puttin in a y tube to make em dual. any suggestions on possibly a cat? or no cat? whats your opinion of good intake parts for the 250 I6?

Definitely go with a dual out header, not a single with a Y pipe. It will sound better. Also, Flowmaster 40 series cost around $80 a piece last I checked, but i got mine used for $75 for the both. Just look around. As for the series, go with 50 series, they are loud, but if you get sick of them, you can roll the windows up and you really cant hear them at all. I love em!!!!!!! As far as intake, just upgrade the carb to a 2 barrel, either a holley 5200 or even better, a 2300. Ask around a little and look at previous posts on here and you will find all you need as far as that goes.

Yeah!!! I get that all the time!!!!! Even my MECHANICS, who have worked on the car for the past 3 or 4 years thought i swapped out the "ole six". I was very happy with that. When I took it open headered to the exhaust shop, the guy in the bay said "I thought we were workin on that six banger stang today." He thought it was a 351. They all had a good laugh when they saw the little six. Complements are a plenty with true duals and good ole Flows at the rear

Its all about putting cherry bombers on the pipes if u want them to sound nice.. that is what i have and at 45 she perrs...but when u r at a light she has a nice grumble.. pick them up at any auto store for 30 each
