Finally brought it home

Well,

I brought the car home from storage on Saturday and finally got a chance to drive it a bit since I picked it up from the garage last month.

Nothing really went as I thought it would.

1) It looks like the driver's side rear brake is stuck because once I got it up on the freeway, that wheel started smoking a bit and it smelled like burning plastic. Ugh. I suppose that something like this is to be expected when a car sits for 10 years. Don't know what elese it could be besides a brake shoe dragging against the drum.

2) The stalling whenever the car was in gear with the brakes applied continued till the car really warmed up. Then it just bogged to the point where it was about to stall without actually doing it and it was surging a bit with the brakes engaged. The enhaust also smells really rich.

3) I noticed no difference in acceleration throughout most of the gas pedel travel. I could not get the tranny to kick down either.

I am thinking that 2 and 3 are carb related. The carb really appears to be running rich. Also, it may be that the carb linkage is not adjusted correctly. As for the surging...I don't know. The garage that rebuilt the engine seemed to think I would need a higher stall converter, but I was hopping not to have to do that.

Any suggestions you guys may have would be great.
