finally my new s/c came in (pics)

i sure will, let me tell you what happen.my truck was done i drove it hard for a few day's making the video before i was coming home from texas just to make sure every thing was ok and so i would not brake down on the way home, well the next day when i got up i told my friend i was going to fuel up for the ride home back to louisiana well as i left my truck started to miss and run bad so i made a u. e. and went back, we did a compression check all but one cylinder #6 was good it only would hold 20% so we pulled the head something got in #6 we don't know what it was and where it came from, we check the S/C and nothing went thur it but we said maybe the ring land's, nope it was not, we found what look like ring land's but no ring's was broke but what ever it was it crack the cylinder sleave so now i have a motor i been workin on with a p+p head and some very high-$$ piston a few other goodies that i will be putin in i also have a comp supercharger cam that i order from summit that i hope get's here before 11-20-10 for our show and power tour. so now back to texas it should take no time to get it going again and i will email my video to myself and i will maybe make another one,,also i talk to jon L he said he's doing a turbo 300-6 just like yours and that he is copying off of your's do you know him from here or are you and him friend's at home. ps,,,,i'm starting on another 300-6, it will be a t-61 turbo going into 2 GM M-90"S that i have laying around, i seen them on youtube under twincharged so let's see what happen's,,,,,thank's,,,keith,,,

i will be on my way to texas tomorrow (thurs) and as soon as i get there i will put the video on from my friend's son that he was going to email me many moon ago, i will never count on any smart ass numshull's again, make's me want to pee in his gas tank, i'd like to give him a dirty sanchez to drive him up the wall,,,,thank's,, keith

ok here's one of the video's that i made 2 week's ago, we could only get one right now it's not to long but it show's what it can do to the 2 back tire's,,,,thank's,,,,keith

Where did you source the sc at? Is this the same model as off of the Ford Lightning?

Did you change out the gaskets for the draw through set up?

Do you have a design templaet for the aluminum mating plate for the off to sc?

it's a mp112 from magnacharger at the time they were $499.00 , it's there s/c that they sell for hot rod's and hot rod flathead's to be used with a 4bb carb,,,,,,,keith

oh,the adapter plate i plan on doing another one but i,m gunner make it innercooed later on but i would get the s/c frist and get one with a loger nose so the s/c adapter plate don't have to be so long and your going to need to change over to a sep belt and pulley late model bracket's,,,,keith

well all i got to say is my truck is runing dam good and i drive the hell out of it sometime's. i order another pulley a 2.80 that should give me about 7 to 9 lbs of boost, also waiting on my livewire's to come in so then i will install the MSD and coil,,,,keith

hey how you doing groucho,i'm changing my rearend from the 8.8 308:1 to a 9inch that has a 300:1 but i'm changing the gearing to a 350:1, the last so called mechanic that worked on the spiter gears left out one of the thrush washer and then one day it went boom and the drive shaft just would spin, it's been eazy taking out the r/end with the 4-link i have. she should hook up a lil better now, so next will be my c-4 and get that dam slow shifting AOD out of my truck i know that i could cut a sec (1) or more off my 14.2 time. and as for how she's runing GREAT don't over heat are anything run's dam good i love driving it, oh and at the red light the big GMC"S with there big v8"s and diesel they try but by 60' they let off and stop. well i hope to have another video soon, as soon as i finsh the rear end we going back to the track and will do a nice video and a lil test and tune,,,,and thank's for your reply groucho,,,,,,keith

well all this time working on my rear end a friend a X-mud racer had a spare strange 1906 diff-case with moser 350.1 ring and pinion (just what i wanted) and pinion support, ready to drop in $275.00,, thanks god,,,keith

well i finally got the rearend (9') in, with that lil bigger 9 it sure has a better take off and lanche, i'm trying to get every thing ready for the track in october. next will be the C-4 with trans-brake,,,,thanks,,,keith

tci transmission will be orded monday and should be here by the end of the week, trans is the street fighter c-4, i still need to get a bell housing and maybe a crossmember. i have to find out about the linkage and crossmember. also what will work off the old AOD, trying to get ready for the track,,,keith

i just got my tci c4 streetfighter trans the other day and the torque converter(breakaway 2000 to 2400 stall) and cnc aluminum bellhousing, so it was time to take out that slow shifting aod. the trans came out eazy and next i tryed to see how the fit was to the bellhousing and motor, all the bolt's hole's match but the flex plate was to big so that tell's me that i have a 164 tooth and i need the 157, so now on the hunt for a 157,,so now i can't wait to go to the track,,,also have video on my link in sig of new trans, will have more vid's soon,,,,thanks,,,,keith

You'll probably need to get a 157T flexplate for a Stroker SBF V8. That will get you the 157T and the zero imbalance you need for the 300.

yes, i just order a 157 tooth flexplate today from TCI and thanks for your reply. i been watching your build and think you are going with a roots or centrifugal supercharger, i like to say one thing about supercharging the 300-6, i know every one likes the turbo or the centrifugal but i think the roots type is easy to do and the most boost for your buck, and the power and torque is unbelievable. and it is so reliable just like the 300-6 should be,the only time i open the hood now is just to see if my engine needs to be clean i have not been to the track or dyno yet but as soon as i get this c4 in i will be the 1st in line at la state capitol raceway ,,,,thanks,,, keith,,,and good luck on your build

Cool, glad you found the right flexplate.

The plan for mine is the Eaton GT500 supercharger. I'm going to go with a remote mount blower, air to water intercooler and a couple blow thru carbs. It's going to be a few years before mine is anywhere close to being running.

I've been a big fan of the eaton style roots superchargers for a long time. I think the operating characteristics and rpm range of the Eatons match up well with the 240/300's. I like having the boost there when you hit the go pedal!!! :D I think centrifugal superchargers are better suited to high revving V8's. They are somewhat like a big turbo where you have to build boost. I'm not going to bash on turbos. They work great and have more power potential. But I just prefer the roots/positive displacement/screw type superchargers over a turbo.

By the way your truck is very cool!! For some reason I can't watch the videos in your signature link. But I have watched the ones on Youtube many times!

The only suggestion I would have is, you should throw a Mustang Boss 429 hood scoop on it!!

10-4 on the scoop i been lookin for a boss scoop for a while on ebay now, and i also love the turbo, my brother gave me a rear engine dragster roller chassis with all the wheels, rear wing, steering just about every thing but the engine/trans, it was on fire but just the motor. i was thinking about doing a blow-thru on that 300-6 with a turbo, i also been wanting to do a 671 on the 300-6 too, but as you know it takes time and money which i have alot of one but only a lil bit of the other.i like the eatons s/c also and the sound of the eaton like a jet turbine.i wanted to s/c my toyo r22 tbi when i seen a kit from camden ink, but the camden s/c was a old type with straight rotor vanes and does not make a sound like the eaton. they say that they make a conversion to use a eaton m62 for the r22,,, you said that you wanted to use 2 m90's have you seen them on youtube.com/twinsuperchargers, i like the idea of 2 s/c but only for the track if i was using for the street/ddriver, i would go with one m112. if you need any help with your build send me a PM i will be glad to help out if i can. i'm not any kind of wiz kid just a 53 year old man that use to build, race and win but now i forgot every thing from a wreck i was in but it's ok i'll do it all over again and have a hell of a good time,, and good luck on your build,,, to bad you don't live up the road from me we could have a hell of a ford 6 race team,,,,,thanks,,,,keith

I buy my Boss scoops from Mustangs Unlimited. They are expensive ( $140.00 ), but they are about the best quality I've found without going with an original. http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy ... 1=X1021+01

A rear engine dragster with a turbo 300 sounds wild!! The 6-71 blowers are cool but that's a lot of weight and eats a lot more power to turn them. The Eatons are a much better choice for the 300. And believe me I know all about the lack of time or money!! If I have enough of one, I'm always short on the other.

I was planning on going with 2 M90's. They can be picked up cheaper then the M112's. But I came to conclusion a single M112 would probably out perform dual M90's. And in the long run when you figure in all the mounts and plumbing a single M112 will be cheaper. And since I am going to go with a single I decided to go with the newest version I could afford. So I decided on the Shelby GT500 version. It has the shorter snout/drive assembly on it. But since I'm remote mounting mine it should work out great. And with the snout being so short I don't need to worry about any kind of drive support like you need with the longer ones.

I wanted to run a single 4V carb but am a little concerned about not getting an even air/fuel distribution. The last thing I want to do is lean out a cylinder and burn a piston. So I'm either going to run three 500 cfm Holley 2V carbs or 2 Holley 450 4V's. I'm going to build my own intake manifold. Now I just need to learn to weld aluminum and get a welder or torch that will handle it.

A 6 cylinder race team sounds cool. But I don't know how much of a race vehicle mine will be. If I ever get mine built it's going to go in my 54 F100 4x4 daily driver/work truck/toy!  But I have to get the truck built before I worry about the engine. What's a few more years/decades.
