Hello:
I have an Aussie crossflow with the adm carb. Were in the process of machining the block, turning crank etc. I'm having some difficulty locating the appropriate gaket set and bearings here in the states.Does anyone know of an overseas supplier that can mail gaskets and bearings? Also looking for appropriate distributor, and a cool valve cover. Any approximate costs would be helpful as well. Thanks!

Omar

The genuine OEM bearings (ACL) are about $170/set Aussie plus postage. That's crank, rods, cam.

The gasket set is to suit "XE carbed engine"; again I suggest ACL. From memory about $90-odd plus postage.

Alloy valve cover and matching oil cap is $40-60 when you find one. They need steaming and refinishing (glassbeading or polishing).

Distributors: You can buy a good used one with some hunting for $40-60 with 12V factory coil. A spare module is $75 new. The Crow gear is $55-70 new and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A true rebuilt distributor is something of a prize item.

 You'll need a crossflow cam. I suggest Crow, but there are others, too. Typically a stock grind is $270-ish with assy lube (and sticker :P ).

Have you got a bellhousing, block plate and dust cover?

If you go to one of the regulars like AzCoupe or Dbz.. (Dennis), they may be able to stick some stuff in a larger crate. Else Rare Spares can post pretty much everything to you.

Note that there are three of our dollars to two of yours.

Cheers, Adam.

a note on the alloy EFI rockercover; Its not a good idea to run huge cams, without some sort of spacer between the cover and the head. The rockers tend to hit it.

Oh, and there is no gasket used for the EFI rockercover, just a bead of silicone or loctite..

you might be in luck, my wrecker buddy may have some 2v clevos waiting for me, if so I can stash anything in the crate. BUT with customs being so tight it may take 8 weeks total to get the crates-no joke.
