Flame Thrower Coil Question

I just received my Pertronix Flame Thrower coil in the mail and I was reading the side of the box and it says to use a 3.0 ohm coil for 4 and 6 cylinder engines and a 1.5 ohm coil for 8 cylinders. The one that I bought is a 1.5 ohm. Does it make a difference which one I use? Should I return it? Has anybody had any problems with this coil in their I6?
 
If I'm not mistaken, just keep your ballest if you have one; if not, don't worry about it. Don't let me be the last word on this however, I'm not certain.
 
I just put one in my 65' all stock 200 with a/t. Just took out old coil and put in the new one. Works fine so far and really helped idle even with old plugs, and they are fouled out...So i'm gonna put some new ones in tomorrow. I've driven for like 2 weeks with the coil and old plugs in.
