Fuel Pressure Regulator Suggestion

I tried the Mr. Gasket 9710 and it died a few hours after install. The Spectre looks like the same product but rebranded. Is there a suggestion for a pressure regulator? I need something between 4 and 6 psi. I have to mount it right by the fuel filter so it needs to be able to take the heat.

What is your suggestion? I really don't have a problem. I was adding the fuel pressure regulator because of poor gas mileage. I don't have a float problem on this carburetor. This is a Holley 1940. The float problem is on the Autolite which is not on the car.

The Holley 803 / 804 low / high pressure regulators are inexpensive and reliable, add a little gauge and there's more to think about - for fun 8)

Dial-type (MrGskt) type are unreliable and can rupture pumping fuel onto engine - ignition, hot exhaust etc...

you obviously had a bad one , I have 3 that are 20 + years old and are fine , the one you suggest is also a good one , BUT you need a gauge to know the pressure .

X2 on the Holley regulators. They are everywhere and everyone seems to have on or two they will let go for cheap.

An interesting side note, if you do have one of these or acquire one, the "rebuild" kit from Holley goes for like 10 bucks and comes with both the low pressure and high pressure springs as that is the only difference between them. I put the low pressure spring in one of my old ones when installing my Weber.

As FSD stated, you need to use a gauge to set it up though.

Yes, do. :P
You wouldn't think a pressure regulator would be needed with a properly functioning carb unless you've converted to an electric fuel pump. Or running a progressive carb.

True , BUT the 1brls on the Falcon 6's are VERY subceptible to too much pressure ( anything over 4.5 psi , and pulses from the fuel pump , I have done much testing on the Small Holley's , AND the 1100-1101 and its the same , today's fuel with the alcohol content does NOT help either , installing a regulator is a cheap and effective way to solve those problems , AND it almost always increases the gas mileage , just saying

My fuel pressure regulator puts out over 6psi. I received the 12-803 but I am unsure where to connect it because it has two outs and one in and i have 5/16 fuel line. I only need an in and and out and the one they sent me has two outs and an in.

Cap off one of those outlets with a plug fitting. You can get bushings to reduce the inlet and out size to fit your lines at any auto parts or hardware
