This is for all you guys and gals running the Holley 4412, 7448, and other larger than stock carbs. Does the stock fuel pump provide enough fuel to feed the larger carbs. I had a 1940 on my six until the fuel level actually dropped to the point that the floats were able to get wedged on the bottom of the bowl (How I did that is a whole nother story  ). I'm looking for hopefully a cheap alternative so I may put the Holly back on. The Autolight 1100 is not getting along with my foot.

Use a carter mechanical pump & i also have a red holley electric to feed the mechanical pump. I have a constant 6-7# fuel pressure at all times.
I do this to prevent fuel starvation. William

Do you have the part # for the mechanical pump and what supplier did you get it from?

What kind of pressure do you have now? The stock fuel pump on my 200 pumps fuel at 7psi. Plenty. I have not had any starvation problems. Slap on a fuel pressure gauge and find out what you're starting with.
