My Mav has been pretty much a workhorse for me. No pun intended. The car is basically my car to learn on, not a show car by any means. I am trying to learn everything I can, body work, no bondo, just tin bending, the engine is a 250 with a Holley 300cfm carb, header and a DUI ignition. No big deal. A few weeks ago, I added a "ram air" tube from the radiator support the air cleaner. Last night driving home, 60 mph or so, I noticed the engine felt lean on acceleration. This morning, I changed the jets from 54's to 56's. Then checked the tire pressure and added a little air. I went for a drive, when I got home, I stopped at the stop sign, my neighbor who has a couple of C6 Corvettes, is standing in his driveway. Now you have to understand, he hates Fords, no problem. Every time I stop at the stop sign he laughs becauses I can't do a burnout. Well today was different, I power braked the car, thus spinning the tire. I was laughing and all he could do was shake his head. I got home and walked to his house, all he said was that I was SICK!
I think it's time for an AOD with an 1800 stall converter.

All I can saw to you fordconvert is: "Show off!"
Gene, I'll get a picture posted this week. What were your quarter mile times before the added 2bbl?
Thanks, Ken

Gene, congratulations. A second and a quarter. That had to feel great.
Ken

Gene, I would imagine the added air flow didn't hurt either. The car has to be a lot more fun to drive around, now! It's great to see mod's work.
Ken

Yes it is! I'm interested to see how you did the ram air cause I might want to try something like that just for the races. It could be worth a tenth or two.

You have to remember...99% of corvette owners are compensating...and know absolutely nothing about cars (except the owners of the 50s and 60s vettes).

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever met a vette owner that I've liked. They all have attitudes that I can't stand.

Slade

Slade, you are correct about the attitude. That's ok, I can BS with the best of them.

Gene, I'll get some pictures tomorrow.
