Got the headers installed...finally!

Nice looking setup. Mine looks like your 'before' picture, but installed. What are you doing for a choke pulloff? (I know, Arizona, 'what choke?'.)

Nice!

Are you planning on going back to the track and see how much it helped?

Doug

Nice job..

Two suggestions:

Wrap your mini-starter in reflective heat blanket as it's pretty close to the headers. May want to insulate the wiring to it as well with slip on coverings.

Second is to watch the clear gas filter. I had one that was not used for a while and I'm guessing the rubber shrunk or got hard, but it leaked like a seive at start up, worked fine several weeks prior...I open the hood to see how the engines doing and see fuel spraying all over. Almost got to fill out that insurance fire loss claim... :(

Good luck with it.

Sure sounded sweet when you fired it up.

When you get the full exhaust installed that will be the day to really enjoy the great sound. William

Nothing yet. I discarded the heat tube that was currently in use, but the choke on my carb also has an electric hookup, so I will hook that up later this week. It's really not a big issue here anyway, but it does help. In the meantime I just turned the adjustment on the choke to leave it open.

You bet Doug. There are some schools of thought that headers on a stock six won't help perfomance much, if at all. I think I disagree, so I will find out for sure probably in the next few weeks.

Wow,now thats a good looking engine bay(unlike mine LOL)..
Do you had to lift the engine a bit to install it?
I have the same header in my 200ci 65stang and there was no way around it.
Thanks,
Olli
