Grade 8 washers vs. Hardened washers

I dont know much about washers so I was hoping you guys could help me out on this one. I recently had my head milled and now I want to put it back on my car, and I would like to follow the advice of the "Ford Falcon Performance Handbook" and put hardened washers under the head bolts. But it seems nobody around here has them on hand, and that they would have to order them, but I would like the washers tonight or tomorrow morning. So my question is...Are grade 8 washers the same as hardened? Will grade 8 washers work? or should I hold out for the hardened ones?

Thanks,

Mike

I've never known any different; just buy Taiwanese Grade 8 washers myself. So long as they're dead flat, you should be cool.

Mr Gasket (part number) #87 7/16 header bolt washers.

They are machined to have a flat surface, a regular hardware store grade 8 washer is not. :D
