header heat

hey guys,


i finally gots my header in today from cliffy but was wondering if i should worry about my starter and the heat coming off the header. i know im my truck it has a heat shield but then agian thats a V-8. what are you guys doing. Also im kinda new to this porting stuff how exactly do you port your exhaust.

I and most of the people's engines I've seen pics of dont worry about it. Seems to work out fine.
