header-shock tower clearance

I picked up a clifford 6-2 header recently. I haven't test fitted it yet, but it looks as if it will not clear the shock tower. Could I have gotten the wrong header? It was bought used, and I don't have a part number. Will try to post some pics later. Thanks.

I thought that the 6-2 was for 71-73 250's or something like that, i dont remember. but i think that it will clear, if you have a a/c pump you have to move it......somewhere.

The car's not equipped with A/C. It was once upon a time, but all the parts are gone, 'cept for the pulley and bracket. According to visual inspection and a tape measure, the header is almost 11" wide, and I have about 8'' of clearence between block and shock tower.

It is possible you got the wrong headers, that look similar. But if they are in fact for a 200, there is a good chance they will fit, reguardless of the model they were made for. I know that the mustang, falcon, and bronco headers are all the same, even tho the part numbers may be listed as different. There were also other manufacturers making headers for the 200 back when our inlines were still in production (remember Cyclone and Hedman), and then there is Hooker, so they may or may not be Cliffords at all, maybe they just thought they were. They could also be custom fenderwell headers that were used with fiberglass front clips. I'd like to see some pics if you wouldn't mind posting them or e-mailing them to me.

Gimme a sec to process some of the B&W stuff i'm working on, and i'll get some pics, I don't have a digital camera yet, so i'll have to take a few snaps and scan em

I have a 66 stang with a 200. I bought the cliffy 6 to 2 header and it fit in just fine. The car had A/C when I bought it, but I had to remove it all to fit the header. Maybe someday I'll build a custom bracket for the compressor, but not now.
