Yes, you can use the US fuel pump according to Jack Collins. And you guys have been putting Holleys on Fords since 1908, so 97 years on , the Aussie engine will run one nicely.
A little 350 Holley 7448 with a set of 63 to 65 jets, and 8.5 power valve will run real nice. You have to add a 1 inch tall spacer on the existing Weber manifold, and a 0.5" spacer to move the intake manifold out. A kit from Rcer Walsh uesd to be avuialble for oval track Lima 2300 OHC engines. This will bolt right on for about 20 bucks US.
The Holley 2300 series carb hits the rocker cover of any x-flow if you use the stock 2-bbl intake. So does the Pinto/Capri/Mustang 2.3 Holley~Weber or DGV does too unless you move the intake out futher with a thick gasket and longer bolts. Very easy to do.
The stock intake does work brillantly. I haven't ever tried a Redline, Ultraflow, Cain or some of the Lynx intakes because I've got all the power I wanted with a 500 Holley carb on mine.
With a 350, you'll get as much power as the Weber ADM gave, 126, 130, 131 to 140 was what they had, with 224 to 229 lb-ft, depending on the year. The Aussie Weber has chokes 1.14", while the Holley has 1.1875" chokes. The Weber 34 runs 1.338" throttles, while the 350 runs 1.5" throttles. This could brng on another 15 hp without any extra work if its tuned right. A set of headers is worth about 22 hp. There could be 163 to 177 hp there if its tuned right.
With the#4412 500 Holley, you can go well over 165 without a set of headers and the stock cam. Add an EFI spec cam, headers or the wilder 280 degree items around, you will get up to 196 hp before the heads starts to restrict power. That's what aftermarket tuners got. The heads flow 206 hp at 500 lift, and there is more to be had than that with a more modern cam.
