one niggly little i do have though is my dash loom goes haywire every now and then,if anyone has come across this problem themselves and can tell me how to fix,let me know.its a part digital dash, you know the one i mean, any ideas.........help!!

Does your amp guage start flashin at you and you coolant guage start tellin you that it is cookin cause that is what mine used to do. I went thruogh and made sure every earth in the whole engine bay had a good contact and that seemed to fix it. Also check the connection in the back of the dash is clipped in propper cause mine wasn't. So if that helps good luck. :D

XFSP, you will need 4 (or 5) things :
1) A hot soldering iron
2) A solder sucker or desoldering braid
3) A couple of hours to spare
4) A roll of solder
5) (optional) A mate who knows a bit about electronics and soldering if you are not up to the task.

XF dashes (especially the digital variety) suffer from dry (bad) solder joints throughout. Check in particular the joints on the plugs that connect the dash up to the vehicle wiring harness. Also, the 'digital' (puke!) module itself tends to suffer too; it is a complex piece of work! Be careful to take antistatic precautions when working on the digital section. Please note too, even if a solder joint LOOKS ok, it may not be, so desolder it and put some nice fresh solder on it. If you have any questions please let me know : I will try and assist you remotely!

Enjoy!

Kendall.
