Hole In Carb Adapter

I noticed that there was some smoke coming out of a little hole in my carb adapter. It is the Stovebolt style 2bbl adapter. It doesn't look like a hole that a screw goes into or anything. I also noticed a whistling noise when I have my foot on the pedal but it goes away when I let off it. I think it could be coming from this little hole. Is this hole supposed to be there? What can I use to plug it, maybe JB Weld?

I can't get any pics but it is a very small hole in the front of the adapter. It looks like there are some grind marks around it like when they grind off the metal shards at the factory. Maybe it was an air pocket and they hit it when they were grinding. I can't think of any reason why it would be there. Should I plug it?

Sounds like an air pocket in the casting.
You can plug it with JB weld or use a 8-32 or 10-32 tap and plug it with a machine screw.

Uhhh......Hi..... :?:

On my clifford adapter there is a hole which is the mount for the pivot of the (early) throttle rod linkage. Of course i have no way of knowing if this is the case on the stovebolt.
