Holley 2-V fit under hood?

I just got off the phone with Clifford. They said my Holley 2300 will not fit under the hood with their adapter.

I knew it was tight...but I thought it was do-able.

Has anyone used their adapter successfully with a Holley?

My free Holley 2-V from my buddy's 302 is no longer such a great deal.

hello,

it will if you mount it directly to the log. Search for mustang_geezer, WSA111 and CZLN6 they will have photos of it in their website. There are several pics of it here too. I'll post links to the thread if I find any.

Is this on a Mustang????
Unless they changed the adapter, before I did the direct-mount conversion I was using their adapter and a drop base air cleaner...
Look in my website, the engine with the red valve cover...

I guess that is important.

I kind of felt like the guy at Clifford was beign a little arrogant. I appreciate that he gave me advice...it seemed like there was some alternative to let me use my (free) Holley 2300.

Now I've dug into the books on teh Weber 38 DGAS. It looks like a nice and highly tunable Carb. I don't really want to fiddle with it often. I just want to hop up my daily driver a bit.

Is this the one that fit with a Clifford adaptor?

And Where'd you get that air filter?

Nice NOx!

I can't see the pic (Tripod won't allow hotlink) anyway, in the engine page, is the very last one, it says before nitrous install.
The air cleaner is a Summit chrome air cleaner, it costs like $20.

didnt you now i sell motormounths adjustible in 2 hights for adding higher carb ore a 250 engine?

Yea I feel for you. Clifford should be shut down. I also bought a clifford adapter. I think they use to sell a one piece deal that might have solved the issue but now what they ship is a webber adapter with a holley plate (piece of crap) They way I got mine to fit my 65 mustang was to take the webber part to the machine shop and have then grind it down 3/16" Then you have to re-work the cone. I also called clifford but they acted surprised (yea right) It does fit but it against the hood. Good luck to you and trash clifford.

did any of you have the water plate? did you just tie the line together?

am I correct in assuming that the clifford adaptor without thw water plate fiits fine?

Ya I bought that clifford adapter for my holley 2300 350 cfm and it will NOT fit under the hood of my maverick. Thats why I'm scrapping that adapter thing and making my own :D

howmuch clearance you got ? not....... , ahah ,oops . i now ,

but howmuch to high is it ?
i did made special motormounths adjustible that lower the engine almost 1 "".

almost 2"s with a very small air breather

Besides I don't like the way the clifford adapter disrupts correct fuel atomization, should have more plane not tower. With my adapter you can run the stock 1 bbl in the stock location and have either 2 more 1 bbls or a 2 barrel..or a 4 barrel as a secondary for higher rpms. Right now the holley 350 even after testing out 6 different jet packs, accel pump cams, and power valve psi's she bogs down off the line due to too much air fuel for the rpms and cam I have and not enough atomization with the clifford adapter. So, I am making one that gives both more than double the volume of the log and ribbed plane for max atomization for more pop and corrected air/fuel mix. I know it would be nice to just get me an aussie crate motor with turbo and 6 speed  But I can't help it..at least it's not a real horse I'm trying to make run faster lol.
