Holley 2300 leaking fuel

Well i have been messing around trying to tune my holley2300 350cfm carb and i have noticed that it is leaking fuel when the throttle cable is pulled. It seems to be leaking from the throttle shaft. I am planning to rebuild the carburetor soon, will a normal rebuild kit fix the leakage or do i need to get a new carb base. I know this isnt that much data to go from, but im just looking for ideas on what the problem could be.

Thank you very much!

If fuel is leaking out via the throttle shaft, you may have excess clearance there. A regular rebuild doesn't service the throttle shaft, so you'd need to either rebush it, or ream and use the slip-fit Teflon type bushes.

The fuel leak could also be due to some other problem, such as overfuelling.
