Holley 350 on a 200 help.

I have a 1967 200 with a dui and a holley 350 carb. I was wondering what you guys think I should gap my plugs to. Has a slight hesitation sometimes. Also think the carb might have to be rejetted again. I live in illinois.

set the plug gap at .040, i have found over the years that is best for most applications. as for the hesitation, i would start with the accelerator pump circuit first.

Is the Holley a new carb or used? I agree that the acc pump should be the first thing to adjust. Do you know how?

Had someone put the carb on and they rejetted it and ran good for awhile. Now I think it needs to be adjusted again. Honestly I'm not to familer with adjusting it.

It' fairly easy to adjust the acc pump. Find a way to hold the throttle wide open and then measure the clearance with a feeler guage between the pump lever arm and the adjustment screw. You want to shoot for 15 thousandths clearance. You just adjust the screw as seen in the picture either way to increase or decrease the clearance.

Excellent advice. The accelerator pump preload screws is a screw many will "fiddle" with because it's there and not knowing what it's for or what it does. "Hey, I'll just adjust this screw and see what happens".... , RodC.

First of all what size are the carbs main jet size?
What color is the accelerator pump cam?
What is the size of the accelerator pump discharge nozzle?
Is your engine stock & is the carb direct mounted or via an adapter?
Since you have the DUI what do have your initial advance set?
Paramount is the instruction Gene gave you on the pump adjustments.
I know i asked a lot, but need more info on what you have. Bill
