how bad, really - another carb

so how bad is it really going to be if my carb's fuel bowl is not facing the front. It's not the linkage I'm worried about (throttle cable) but I've heard about the "sharp corners" and it choking or something. Some people say it has never happened, some people say it does...

What is ya'lls opinion?

I can't say that I have had problems due to carb orientation.
