I want to see a mounted Eaton

I know you guys have been working mounting a Eaton on the SB 200's and some have even got them running.
I want to see some Pics...on the stand in the car Just give me some insperation.

Not mine. Just have the picture. Note that it is on a drag-race Comet. No inner fenders. Also it is a draw-through; the carb is mounted on the back of the blower.

Copy the picture and enlarge it.

:? Umm... anyone know how I can convince my wife that this is necessary? What an amazing simplistic approach. I'd think mounting the carb before the blower would make tuning it easier.

Only downside that I can figure is the lack of an intercooler. (Or aftercooler, if you prefer the technical term.)

Dennis, can you share more details about this setup? Was the carb mount completely custom fabricated, or is it something you can order for the Eaton?[/u]
 
Guys dont forget if you put the carb before the pump you have to buy a specail seal since the eaton is not a totaly sealed blower.

I have seen a parts house offering such a critter.

That is almost exactly how I mounted mine except mine was angled at about the same degree that the distributor is mounted.

I chose to blow thru so I didn't blow up if I had a backfire, plus I ran an intercooler which would've made a nice air/fuel bomb with the right spark.

I used the original blower plenum and had a piece of pipe press fit into the outlet. It pointed right at the radiator support where I put the intercooler.

You would have to make up some kind of manifold to hook the carb to the back of the charger if you wanted to suck thru. We just took a piece of 3" aluminum pipe and flattened one end and welded it to a piece of 1/2" that was cut to fit the air intake on the charger. Then I hooked a Accel Cool Blue cone type filter to the pipe. The filter fit nicely between the steering box and the engine stopping just before the firewall.

What would be neat is to rig it into the cowl vent for a true cowl induction system.

Alignment is the challenge. If you are not in perfect alignment with the crank pulley you will throw belts at anything over 4000/5000 rpm.
