8) firs thing to do is make sure that there is no interference between the carb, and the carb adapter. i had an issue with mine which required some work with a small grinding wheel to make sure i had enough clearance between the throttle linkage and the adapter. next make sure the idle speed screw is set to its lowest setting, and set your idle mixture screws at 1 1/2 turns from their seat. the next thing to do is make sure the fast idle cam is not engaged, and that the choke is wide open. if you still have an idle speed too high, back your timing down a bit, and check for accelerator linkage binding.
