Ignition Module Question

I have installed a 200 inline into my 66 bronco. This motor out of a 1980 ford fairmont. I assume to have the original duraspark II distributor. Since old motor had points, i bought what i thought was the right ignition module from NAPA per reading other posts. However, the plug in does not match? This distributor has 3 wires going into plug, orange-purple-black. This module 4 wires including a green?
I thought about splicing and not using the plug, but what does green wire do? Should i take this module back? this is one they told me would work?
Any insight is appreciated.

The dizzy sounds correct. What car did you use to get the module? I would use 76-77. Earlier could have been other versions and later could have got into computer stuff depending on the models.

Hey thanks for the Mustang Steve wiring diagram..Looks like i just have a different plug for whatever reason. Probably not worth aggrevation trying to return the one i got to find one w/ plug that matches.. i'll just splice the wires vs using a stock plug connector. Thanks again Ford Six Forum!!!

The Mustang Steve wiring diagram was a life saver!!! I just spliced wires from modue to Dist and she fired up on my second crank. Thanks
