alright im still in shopping mode so i need to figure out what to use for my turbo aussie250 in a US 68 stang. ive talked my self into a aussie engine, withthe help of an Oregon dealer, so i wanted to know a few things. is there a 4bbl adaptor for the aussie 6? and then....fuel injection. im a fan but want to know what the flow and hp numbers look like for the fuel injeted vs carbed engines. i dont want to use an aftermarket injection kit so is moding a stock one going to be an option? thanks guys.
 
Buy Al's EFI crossflow manifold off ebay. Quick! And the headers.

You can get a four-hole Redline or Cain manifold, not especially cheap. I'm still not sold on them at all.

ive been looking at it, auction ended but i emailed him to find out if they're still availble. whats the computer situation like with those, hard wiring? how to fool it for boost?. how about needing bigger injectors for the boost, are they avalible? thanks!
 
They're pretty standard Bosch infectors. You can up the pressure or the injector itself, or both. Aftermarket computers are handy; you are best off with a crank angle sensor (my opinion), but even the 82-85 style dizzy is a good unit.

It's not particularly hard - just the net amount of work to consider (return lines, wiring etc). Here a popular computer is Wolf - either the "2D" (superseded and CHEAP) or "3D".

Using the stock Bosch/Ford EFI is NOT the way to go. It is going to be more difficult to wire, and once done, will only be usable on a stock engine. Fine if you only want 150 horses or so.

Use the existing hardware; manifold, injectors, throttle body, etc. and hook them to an SDS, Megasquirt, Wolf, whatever. Get rid of the awful Bosch vane airflow meter in the process.

You'll then be able to tune it for different cams, adjust fuel and ignition curves, add boost.....any number of modifications. You can even optimize for emissions and economy, if that's the goal.
