Hello everyone, first time posting so be gentle!
I am working on a 3 speed to C4 conversion on my 1967 mustang. I have almost all the parts (waiting for my vacuum line) and wanted to at least get the tranny installed while I waited for the final part. Was working on this last night when I ran in to a snag. I can get the tranny bell housing all lined up to the engine block and flexplate, I know the tc is seated properly, but I have a guide pin on the engine block (driver side) that is about 1/2" off target. I got the bell housing from a local mustang restoration shop where they do some grade A work, and was told it is for my 1967 engine, so I assume its the proper one.
So, can I alter the bell housing to get this guide pin to fit or can I just cut the guide pin off? Its a 4 bolt bell housing and the guide pin is only to help line it up, correct? Anyone else ever have this problem?
Thanks for any tips or advice!
