I have been researching how to build a turbo kit for my 300 6, and I came across a link on this site to this pic

I read the specs and everything and it sounds like a pretty good setup, but I cant find anything more on it. Any help? Thanks.

Mr Miller died a while back. I don't recall reading of any significant efforts to continue work in the vein he was pursuing.

Have you seen what "Hudson Nut" has done with his Hudson motor? If you want more power from the factory block, he might be a good person to pick the brains of. A turbo 300 is very feasible but you will be breaking some new ground for your specific application.

Regards, Adam.

After reading your post I looked on the internet and found this. Ak Miller Turbo Charging 9256 Bermudez Pico Rivera, CA 90660 (310) 949-2548. I don't know if they're still in business but it worth a shot to call them.

Although that info is available on the 'net, I am pretty sure there is no one there to help you anymore.

I talked to Ak Miller probably about 3-4 years ago. At that time he was no longer doing car kits because of the EPA certification headaches. He was only doing kits for RV's and trucks.

Correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe he has passed on....

The last time I stopped in to see Ak was in the late 90s. He was very happy with his own daily driver: a '96(IIRC) Ford F150 set up with dual fuel & twin turbos. He loved to tease & embarass the Brand X and imports with it , but really, he had hot rodded just about everything. He was still involved at that time, in propane conversion gear also IIRC.

In the late 70s, Ak undertook a prototype project for the Brazilian government that had him supplying several engines and setting up several of the more popular Brazilian-produced cars with turbocharged alcohol fueling. Alas, they only wanted to pick his brain, not work with him in doing a continuing business with them. They're still committed to sugar cane-based alcohol fueling, much less expensive than corn-based ethanol fuel programs, even after you factor out the cost of labor.

Unlike a lot of chrome & glitter guys, Ak built, refined & drove what he sold. He was always searching for more, and he loved to come up with new stuff to surprise folks. He showed me the first Aussie-headed turbocharged 250" six he'd built. Amazed & stumped, I'd never seen a head like that before. That was probably in 77 or 78, I believe. A great guy who could design and build for performance or economy, or even the best balance of both.

W.O.T., wherever you are, Ak. And thanks, man.
