It's back in the bay!

Put it in this Sunday afternoon, had a friend who had never put an engine in help me. He did a great job, and I am glad I didn't try to do it on my own. Everything lined up fine, but we had to come in very steep and I had to bring it in from the side with limited clearance from the ceiling and the front----and my lift would not take it high enough so we had to lift the tail shaft into the bay.....about 30 minutes all told. He was worried about some minor damage to my filter and the front radiator frame....I told him that it was nothing I couldn't fix and that for neophytes we did very well.

I set the angle and had it on the lift before he arrived and with the way it was set I could not raise or lower the tail......it wouldn't have mattered how I set it up with those brackets and where my chain lined up I couldn't have turned it if I hadn't set the angle first.

it looks real nice.
makes me wana rip my six out and clean it up...even though i dont have a single tool to do it lol

Seeing this saddens me. Mine still isn't in, as I have nowhere to do it.

But hey, not to be a downer. It sure does look great! Congrats!

Well, I was a little afraid it wouldn't feel at home since I had her sittin on a stand for about 5 years.... I did do the 2 barrel conversion with a fabricated 1" adaptor and the cable throttle idea I got off of cobrasix's site. Had to order a new accelerator rod, I had one off of a '70 or so Ford truck that would have worked but VCM's had this one for about $50 or so and no bending or fabbing. I also opted for a manual choke...I am not sure why but I have always liked them. Thanks for the positive comments....I just hope it starts!
