JAW arrived... in pieces...

Has anyone had problems after ordering a JAW unit from 14point7.com? I ordered the JAW completely assembled along with an assembled display & what I got was a bunch of parts with no instructions... I'm hoping that it was simply an error, however I would like to know if anyone else has had any issues after ordering one of these.

Jeez, all I wanted to do was tinker & tune a bit :x :!:

sounds like he sent you the diy kit. (mine got here today! ive already burnt myself with the soldering iron) but from reading around on the 14point7 forum, he seems like he stands behind his product and will probably send you the right one if you email him.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but I hate surprises on long road trips. Things like burning pistons when you have the whole family on a camping trip in Italy, and need to return to central Germany.

My concern with tuning with AFM is the very uneven fuel distribution of the log. Tuning for stoichiometric mix should result in 3 & 4 running rich, 2 & 5 OK, and 1 & 6 running lean. Unless someone has taken readings at each pipe, my impulse would be to tune for slightly rich, so 1 & 6 don't run lean. Under heavy load (such as climbing at high altitude) it is hard to hear pinging, specially in a convertible with the top down. I would hate to burn a piston going up the Rockies. That would ruin a road trip.
