I am looking for a shop or someone with EXPERIENCE with the six IN SOUTHERN CALIF. preferably in LA who could do a total rebuild with a little performance upgrade for my 69 mustang.

You might want to check out the place who rebuilt Colonel Flashman's big six. They seemed to be extremely thorough and the dyno results were good. It wasn't desperately cheap, though.

Do you have a 200 or 250 six?

Regards, Adam.

Well - i just got a rebuild from Precision Engine Volume (downtown los angeles) in August and so far I've been quite impressed. Now I only paid $1,800...the machinist has called to have me come back at the 3, 6, and 12 month marks just to look things over. Seems like this guy (speak to Kenny the mgr.) knows his stuff and my father and I felt pretty confident with their work. I can't yet say whether or not I truly got what i paid for, or whether or not this thing will hold up, but I felt that the overall service/quality was excellent. The number for Kenny at Precision Engine Volume is: 1(213)-747-7524. They are located at 1918 South San Pedro St. Los Angeles, CA 90011.

Let me know if you end up calling/going there as I'm interested to hear your opinion. Feel free to email me skycyclej@verizon.net with questions...Good luck!

Thanks for the info - I did get one other referral in Monorvia - JMS Racing I don't know if you ever heard of them, but I am definately going to see this guy Kenny - I will let you know.

Thanks again ---- Steve

Steve, I found this number for JMS: 626/357-2718

The member here whose engine they built, is someone it's probably fair to describe as "fussy".

Regards, Adam.

One of our members in Cal rebuilds with a Boring/Honing Plate for the inline 200. If you can, track him down. Do a search for boring or plate here on the forum to find him. I will try to do the same.

Good luck, Ric.

Thanks for the info - Ric

Adam - Thanks for the Phone #. I'll give them a call. As far as the other member who is "Fussy"....... I think when it comes to some things on these cars we all are to a certain extent. I'm not going out to race the thing. I amj ust as concerned as how good it looks when you lift up the hood.

I read an article about JMS in one of the car magazines. JMS is supposed to be excellent and fairly priced (although I haven't personally used them)
