NO he satered out in Karting then secured financial backing from Fosters and someone else to go and live in europe to find a drive. He worked up thgouh the formula open wheeled classes and eventually ended up driving a sprts car for Mercedes. He competed in the Le-mans 24 hours etc that type of thing. He was recruited into formula onje by the australian F1 Team owner Paul Stoddart owner of MInardi last year. He now has secured a drive with Jaguar.

You may have seen some footage of one of the silver mercedes sports cars flipping over backwards from a couple of years ago. He was driving the car

Great to see you here CHEVYTOWN! You're a racing freak like a lot of us here!

I take exception to it! He wasn't driving it when it crashed. That was "Flying With Style" in the best Buzz Lightyear traditions!!!! LOL!!!

 Hell yeah. You folks know of David Grubnic/Andrew Cowin?

That's cool. I thought he came fromt the V8 supercar series, as this is only the 2nd year I will be watching the V8'ss, although I have known about Peter for some time now...cool cat. And yes, I do remember that flip...as they say, what a small world.

Can't wait for the Clipsol 500! Any of you from down dare livin in the states...if so, do you have satellite to watch it live? SpeedChannel only shows it at the end of the year...cheap party!

hmm.. every time I see or hear of Bathurst, I keep wanting them to replay the 1971 Hardie-Ferodo 500.. or all of the fights over the Mountain 1981-1983!!

Wouldnt mind seeing some footage of some GTRs learning VL Walkinshaws some humility though!! Too bad Mark Skaife went to the Dark Side. I guess they can have him.. and his ego!

i find v8 supercars so boring...id rather watch the production races they are doing these days, more variety is more interesting in my books.
Have u guys seen the 7 litre  monaro holden has brought out in that????
apparently its got some carbon fibre panels and no back seats to save weight.... and it whips the ass of the lambo and viper, thats pretty mean even if it is a holden

...production racing....!

Yeah right!

Mainly production cars and 1 Commodore V8Supercar dressed as a Monaro with a 7litre engine. What a joke! Doesn't sound like any Monaro I could buy today! (yes I know about the HRT427)

All just to get the mob to their 24hr Bathurst race and so Holden can say Monaro rules again they bastardise the rules to let this thing run.

dont get me started on that bloody monaro..can you buy a hrt427 yet.
John bowe said before the bathurst 24 hour that it would win buy a mile, and he didnt know how it was passed to race as he is on the nations
cup board.its a purpose built race car that correct me if im wrong you cant buy yet ($200.000 they say).he also stated that the marketing implications for holden would be huge.the last few magazines i have read a full of monaro this ..monaro that....world beater monaro.
just another example of holden pushing its weight around and getting what they want.stay tuned to the v8 supercars ,if the fords start to win regular ,holden will be up in arms and have things changed quick smart or they will toss there toys..... ok guys lets build a purpose built GT40 and go kick some butt ...

cheers dave 67xr6

heh. See last years 24 hour race? Of course not, theres not enough money in it for the TV Stations. Ford AU3 TS50 ran 8th overall. Holden GTS scored an awesome DNF - Hows that for their Generation 3 V8?? I'd be guessing that if their 427cu.in V8 is based on the LS1 motor, it'd have the same tendancies to fail under duress..

All Ford need to do now is to release the GTHO before this years GTP.. AWD with a Lightning supercharged 5.4 - That'd hand it back to Monaro well good and proper... Game Over

UGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

You hit a nerve HT! :shockin:

In 2000 the Kiwis made rude jokes about the Aussie Challenge boat going down quicker than a SteinLarger beer. (It sank in 20 seconds after some unfortunate structural damage due to the cutting edge consturction )

Then this year our Team New Zealand boat fell apart on the water. Needed more bail than the Sid Vicious on a drinking binge!

Kiwis now know God Himself is an Aussie, and He hates Kiwi scum laughing at them. :stick:

The only good news was a couple of Kiwis were at the helm of the winning Alinghi boat, bank-rolled by a clever Swiss dude. They defected from Team NZ when it became clear the NZ outfit were not prepared to lay out the coin ($$$) to do the job as well as the Swiss/Italian syndicate.

Watching the race was an excercise in fortitude because they New Zealand team was stressed out and unable to hack the conditions. A real duffer.

I'm still proud to be a Kiwi, but we lost a golden chance to kick butt brother!

Next year, well cane the Bathurst 24 hour in a XR6 Turbo BA Falcon. Hope it gets a 6-speed gearbox homologated!

The Holden Monaro 427 was bitchin'. Also rans can just bitch about it.

Pretty good, even if it has got GM stamped all over it!
