Hello all!
Well the Paxton is installed and running very well, changed carb jets today from 71 to 75 to 83 then back to 78 just trying to find the sweet spot on air fuel mixture. The engine is a Ford small six 200 cubic inch with an Aussie 250 2v intake and head.

Now answers to your questions:
1. max boost 10 p.s.i. @ 4200 rpm creaps up to 12 p.s.i. at 5,000 rpm
2. unknown Horse Power at this time, maybe 225 to 250?
3. Yes it has that Supercharger whine.
4. running stock block, cam, pistons, stock lower end!
5. Carb is Holley 2300 2v 500 cfm (really 374 cfm) Blow-thru is easier!
6. A turbo boosting same rate will produce more hp, the Paxton uses about 30-35 hp to spin!
7. Great right now power!!!!!!!!
8. This was not a kit! Custom install using A/C bracket for mounting.
9. Total cost of used Paxton Supercharger and install about $750.00
10. I will be showing it this weekend at the Bakersfield Car Show October
23rd & 24th.

No further questions Your Honor :D

Looks great Ben!!!

maybe just one question, a short one...where did you come up with that carb bonnet?

Alex

Alright 2 questions i think!

1. Are you running it off of two egular belts?

2. What did the final price come out to be?

Whoops! maybe theres 3 or 4 questions, sorry
3. What Supercharger is that?

4. What did you do about a bracket?

Thanks, and it looks great, looking forward to seeing your horsepower rating and times!

g'day.
just a few questions?is that a 200/250 u have there?

is that a roots type blower?

did you need to make any body modifications in order to make the S/C fit in there?

is there any reason you chose a blow through setup against a draw through setup?

thanks heaps.
chris

maybe you can stop by the dyno on your way to the show. Very nice job, didn't you have a 4 bbl carb before?

John

Nice job Ben!!!     :checks:

What diameter is the supercharger pulley??

Later,

Doug

Answers:

Doug.....It's a 2.75 inch pulley, wish I had a 3.5 inch

John....Yes I had a Holley 4v but it had vacumn secondaries and they could not be converted, so back to my Holley 500!

Xtaxi......Thank you!

Chris.....centrifugal supercharger, no body mods, blow thru means buying nothing extra

Natestang....Regular fan belts, re read my post, ditto, homemade!

Ben, that looks awesome. Really clean. Did you coat the valve cover? How much do you feel in the seat-o-meter?

I'm may have to look up the guy that did your carb bonnet for my new project. Installing a 3x2 lynx/webber manifold on an OZ head, TBI throttle bodies, aftermarket controller (haven't decided which), and Will is designing the turbo header. All I still needed to figure out was the air box. Sounds like this guy can handle it. Thanks much for the tip.

It's all going on the OZ250 block (sitting in my garage), with forged pistons and a custom forged crank. Haven't decided if I will drop it in my 67 coupe, or pull the 347 out of the 66 coupe and drop it in there instead.

Anyway, great job. Very impressed with the quality of your workmanship and design.

By the way, looks like you may have an FSPP gift certificate coming your way, unless I get some late contest entries. Apply it towards one of my new alloy valve covers and engrave it "Powered by PAXTON". :D :D :D

Yes, very nice. The clean install is really impressive. It looks like it just belongs there.

The show experience will be great. Walking down the row of cars, you'll hear. "V8, V8, V8, another V8, another V8, another V8, WHOA! Look at that!

DITTO, all of the above!

hey az, how much do you have in that forged OZ short block? where could i get one?! :D also, i love the engine bay, that thing is clean!!

Actually, I was looking for more 2V heads and came across a complete motor. It had just been recently rebuilt and the guy wouldn't sell the head only, so I bought the entire motor. Pretty much stock guts, but the head was in great condition. I've had that sitting in my garage for about six months, deciding what to do with it (sell or keep).

Then a few weeks ago, I came across the custom forged crank, rods, and pistons for a pretty reasonable price, so I bought them. Now I just need to put it all together. Even if the pistons are the wrong bore, I can get them from my supplier.

Next questions was how to make good use of such parts, so I decided to install the triple Webber manifold I just found (actually three of them), triple TBI throttle bodies, and the turbo. And I may add a shot of nitro.

So to answer your question, I doubt I could find another one, but will try. All total, I'll have about $2.5K in it, which includes the complete motor with the oz head, the 3x2 intake, forged rotating assembly, top loader bell, flywheel, shipping, customs, etc.

Thanks, on the subject of your 6 to 8 swap, if your going to race it go the V8, but if you just want a great performing ride well then stay with the INLINE SIX, I know lots of Street Rod guys (my Boss is one) and they are all impressed at the power the six can make and how cool it looks when fixed up! BTW if I hada V8 in my 1968 Mustang I probably would be spanked by someone in a hopped up six because the Vee eights can make power but their much harder to work on in these small engine bays, the inline six is soo easy to work on that I actualy enjoy it when I have too.  Slap a bigger cam, extrators and Aussie 2v head and intake and a big Holley 2V and you will be making the power needed to spank most V8's out their, but heck even if you had a V8 someone out there is allways going to have a faster quicker car and his girl will be better looking than yours.
