In case you weren't following the other thread called Mufflers..

DAMN!! Holy crap! Dudes, next time I ask what mufflers I should put on a car, first slap me in the face, then remind me that the only mufflers worth using are FLOWMASTERS!! Obviously, opinion, but DANG MAN!

You will not believe the sound. My father in law, a long time (that means old) muscle car guy dropped his jaw when he heard it! He said, and I quote, "Holy sh!t man it sounds like you have monster Vee-Eight under the hood!!" and then just kept shaking his head in disbelief. He kept asking me to rev it up and then giggled like a school girl.

If I had to sum up what it sounds like that you can relate to, it's simple. the original 5.0 Mustang GT, back when the REALLY sounded good.

the setup:
Pacemaker Dual Out Headers
added bolted flanges to the ends for easy header removal
2" alum. pipe with an H pipe...back to..
FLOWMASTER 40 SERIES DELTA FLOW with 2" in/out on centers
out to 2" pipe back to angle cut chrome tips.

Did I say

and the clip... (1meg)

That is a mean sound, was it outside for the recording, sounds like it was in a metal building.

the car was in the garage with the door open. The laptop was out in the driveway for the recording about 10 feet away.

I've got standard issue turbos on mine and I love it! You are right, yours does sound like early 5.0 which is a good thing! I think it sounds great and I'm sure you'll get the same response when the peanut gallery hears it and then sees under the hood that I do-that alone makes all the mods worth it!

Bryce, system sounds great. Congradulations you have overcome a great amount of technical issues, but the end result sounds great.
Get this vehicle on the road and spread that sound. William

Sound bad ass man. your project is a classic example of good things coming in time. congrats.

wes

ps what mufflers u got

Good to hear someone gettin the flows on here and representing!! The minute I cranked mine up I knew I had a winner, Hence why Ive been pitching them so much! I have heard so many sound clips and wondered why they sound different from mine. The flows make your car sound like a HOSS. Wish I could have gotten a clip of mine before we tore her apart... soon she will be makin an aweful hissing noise, but she will sill wear her 50 series flows...attached to a 3 inch downpipe instead of dual out headers tho:twisted:
Matt

MAN!! I am so hyped. That sounds awesome. It sounds exactly like a 5.0 Crazy man, I LOVE IT, I think i know what i am doing with my exhaust now!!.
Keep it up

Thats a great sounding six! If no one told me I would have thought it was a mustang being played back. Now only if the zephyr could sound like that... Its the darn stock head pipe with two cats in it that is killing the flow. But running w/ one cat makes it sound like a small semi.

We went to a cruise in last night and popped some eye balls when we popped the hood! I love that!!

Hey man once again i love it, but just curious, how much did the whole setup cost. I may do something like that with mine because mine is in need of a new system anyways. Do you think that it would sound any different with a stock head (or at least a considerable amount?)
Thanks

I spent $52/ea on the Flowmasters (which is a really good price) and $250 on the install which included welding a bolt-up flange onto the Pacemaker headers so that I could remove them easily, H pipe, and new chrome tips.

I'll try to get in and under to do some photos. Nothing to it really.

Headers, bolt flanges, pipes parallel back to just before the rear axle, H pipe, then one pipe turns to the driver's side before turning back into the muffler and out the back. The passenger side just runs practically straight back.

The pipes are very close together for the entire run until the driver's side line turns out. The H pipe is right there before the turn. The pipes are only 6" or less apart, so my H pipe is tiny (length).

Believe me, you aren't the only one that keeps "playing" the clip! I find myself just sitting in it and revving the motor.

I really don't think the garage had much effect on the sound. The tailpipes and rear end were just about hanging out of the garage and the laptop (doing the recording) was half way down the driveway.
