With 66200i6's method you split the horizontal shaft to lift the carb side to clear the pipes. With mine you pull it up with brute force.
When you have the Z-bar linkage out, lay it down on your worktable first and either cut n' weld or tug n' pull until it is dead flat. THEN you make the bend at the header after provisional re-installation and marking.
Hint: Leave the kickdown lever and cable attached to each other. Just remove the U-bolts and let it dangle. This will help you get the right position for the linkage when you reinstall it permanently.
ATTN: see correction above. A little pedal adjustment may be necessary.
It is the 'bellcrank' thing that has a double lever. You could probably salvage one off of a 60's V8 at a local yard. There is also the cable throttle, but this brings the issue of the kickdown lever. However, others here have solved it.
