My new head

Six cylinder manifolds are split when twin-carbing because this isolates it into two three cylinder motors; one fires, then the other in turn. A split manifold provides more effective induction "pulses" with the slight transmissibility between sets allowing evening-up of manifold vacuum.

Thanks for the explanation guys, I'll split them, but not totally all the way. Won't be doing anything for awhile, wife just had surgery for gall bladder yesterday, and I will be Mr. Mom for awhile. Thanks again, I'll keep you up to date when something happens.
