Hey Guys,

I have a few questions. Fisrt off, let me tell you a little about my project. It all started with a '78 Camaro My dad bought for me cost him 500bucks and ran like it too. lol I was "eventually" goin to fix it up. months went by and all it did was sat. :-( finally it got junked because I was to young and naive to do anything about it.
Now my little brother aquired an '67 coupe with an almost perfect body and a straight six. Now what kind of a big brother would I be if I let the same thing happen to this poor little Pony. So anyway sorry to bore you all with that.
This is where i need help. I just bought a Holley/Webber 5200 from Stovenbolt, but bill says the linkage he sells is not the one i need so I'm trying to find an outline of the linkage that ppl have used for this carb but to no avail. I'm modifying the log head with a carb plate. and spacer.I tried searching for it on the forum but maybe I'm not using the correct key words or something. Anyway I'm trying to get it finished for his prom next month so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance and i promise to keep these way shorter next time. Thanx again.

MustangHooah!

Here is what I did for my Weber 38 DGAS. It may work for you.

I used the Lokar throttle cable and trans kick-down cables. There is a way to keep the stock gas pedal and not have to deal with replacing your existing trans kick-down cable. It would involve cutting the mechanical throttle where it bends and attaching a cable there. I haven’t seen it, but heard it has been done. I had to do a little fabricating and welding in order to attach the cables to the carburetor. It took all of 15 minutes to get it done.
(I cant post the pics)

This is the pedal I got through Jegs. The pedal is made by Lokar as well as the cables. I also had to order a ¾ in riser for the pedal. Even though the pedal is adjustable, it kept hitting the carpet, so I just ordered the riser to make it look and work better. Unfortunately, I didn’t want to go with bright and shinny, but this is what was available. I will eventually replace the brake pedal with a matching pedal by Lokar as well.

Here are the part numbers and prices from the Jegs catalog:

Universal / Adjustable Throttle Cable 0625TC-1000U36 $32.99
Trans Kick-Down Cable 0625KD-20C4HT $53.99
Billet Alum Gas Pedal 0625BAG-6004 $89.99
Riser (Lokar pt. #) GPS-6014 $30.00 (+/-)

If I had all the parts at the same time, it may have taken me an afternoon to put everything together. I hope this helps you some.

Welcome to the board!

Odd how topics like this one seem to come in waves...anyways:

The best way is to mount the 5200 float-bowl-forward, with the throttle linkage to the rear, and replace your existing throttle linkage with a pull cable across the valve cover. You can snag a cable and pedal assembly from a later Maverick or other FordSixes, or some folks spring for something like a Lokar. I say that's the best way because mounting the 5200 sideways leads to fuel sloshing on turns which sends the air/fuel ratios lean on right turns and WAY rich on left ones. You can lower the float level or pressure and live with it, but it's not the *best* way.

If you want to keep your pedal and throttle rod, there are many ways to rig it. Lots of folks have posted some creative ways of engineering linkages. Do a search using "mustang 5200 throttle" without the quotes, and be sure to check the "search on ALL terms" box. I got several good hits just now.
