need help with my header

hi
i have a 65 mustang with a 200 six
i want to install the header from mustangs unlimited
there are to 2 problems
1) i can´t get the starter out with the header installed
2) my carb linkage won`t work
its the original one
i have the autolite 1100
are there any solutions for this problems
i need pics of modified carb linkages

Well...There are a couple options:

Did you already order the headers?

1) If so, you probably won't be able to put them in, unless you remove the starter. Hopefully you won't be removing the starter a lot
If you didn't already order them, look into the ones on classicinlines.com ( http://www.classicinlines.com/products.asp?cat=53 )

2) I don't have any pics of a carb linkage, but I know if you do a search, you will find a LOT.

Marcus, there is a smaller starter motor that will fit - it's the gear reduction type made under several names for a different motor - maybe the 390? Somebody else will be sure on the "official" fitment.

I've seen many approaches for the linkage, from full cable setups, to part cable, to bent and re-formed linkage arms. My personal inclination would be to try remaking the original one but with offset dimensions to allow clearance. However, if time is important, a conversion to cable throttle may be the easiest.

IIRC you just a small race type starter for a FE motor. You can find them on Ebay.

If your header is not Jet Hot coated I would recommend a thermal blanket to try and keep the heat off the starter, will improve starter and life and make hot starts easier.

the original starter fits
its tricky but ok

I did a similar thing with the bar but I just bent it in line to reach over the header pipes in back.

All that worry for nothing.
