New to the FordSix forums

Hi, I am new to the FordSix forums. I own a 1965 Ford Mustang coupe. It has a 200ci engine (I think it is out of a 68 ford) and automatic transmission. I have owned it since Oct. 2002. In November 2002 I joined the Vintage Mustang Forums.

Just recently I have been thinking about an exhaust system for my Mustang. I need to replace the header so I figured I should buy a performance header. I have been looking at this header on the FordSix website and also this header on the Clifford Performance website. Has anyone here used one of these headers? The FordSix header is $245. I would have to get it ceramic to protect it. That would probably cost over $100. The Clifford header is $300…$400 if you order it ceramic coated. Which header should I buy?

I want to put a dual exhaust system on my Mustang. Several people have recommended the Borla ProXS mufflers. I will probably go with the Borla mufflers. Does anyone have any comments about them?

Thanks, Justin

It's about time you made it over here...this place is so much better for inline 6 stuff them VMF. VMF is great for mustang stuff, be here is where the center of all ford inline six knowledge is.

Personally, I have a set of Clifford headers and I'm still buying a set of Fordsix headers because the quality looks better.

As far as exhaust system goes, unless you really want Borlas, I would personally (to save money, and this is what I'm going to do) buy a V-8 exhaust system from someplace like Mustangs Unlimited that goes from the tailpipe to the collectors with all the hangers and then take that to a muffler shop to adapt to my headers. That is my plan anyways...

Once again, welcome.

i believe that most of us here are slightly biased towards buying from AzCoupe, one because he's a FSP member, but there is also the fact that he has pressured Clifford into increasing the quality of their work

Welcome!
I have the clifford 6 into 2 Headers leading to true dual exhaust (2 flowmasters). I am very pleased with it! The header is great, and with the flowmasters the sound is unbelievable!

Good luck!
