The tranny upgrade preferred around here for 200 cids is to go to a T5. A forum search will get you loads of material. In short, the conversion works but requires and adapter plate and possible shortening of drive shaft. Nearly unanimous agreement: a real great improvement. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum.

There's lots of good info here to sort through. Do a search on the C/4 swap on the drivelines section.

We need to know which 200 you have. Do the CSI flashlight trick and check the casting number right in front of your starter. It should read something like C1DE 6015 A. It is the first four digits we are concerned with – C1DE in my example. The first digit, “Câ€￾, is the decade (the ‘60s) (D=70s and E=80s). The second digit, “1â€￾ is the year of the decade (1961). The third digit, “Dâ€￾ indicates this part was first used in a Falcon, and the fourth digit, “Eâ€￾ tells us this is an engine part.

Good Luck
