Hey everyone,

After what seems like a long time, I have the car running again. Just a brief list of what was done:

New Clutch
Offy Triple with 3 Webers
Clifford 6 into 2 header
Exhaust port Divider
Mallory Unilite Distributor
Mallory Coil

Some parts were bought through Cliffords some weren't. I did not really have too many problems with them, but it has been a whiel since I bought everything.

The car starts and runs well, I have not been able to do much tuning as it is dumping right out the headers right now, so its quite loud. It does sound DAMN cool though, especially when the prgressive linkage kicks in the two outer carbs.

So anyways, to keep this from ebing real long (whichi t woudl if I talked about all the little obstacles I ran into and overcame) what kind of mufflers do you guys think I should put on. I know there have been a bunch of threads on this, but what do you guys think. I am thinking of running 2 inch back the whole way, so what kind of mufflers?

Thanks, Bill

I will try and post some pictures in the next couple of days, if anyone wants to ask any questions, that woudl be cool too, I woudl be happy to help

2" duals would sound good. The V8 Mustangstuff is the easiest way to go and with dual turbo mufflers, sounds pretty good IMO.

that dynomax turbo muffler does sound pretty good!! when i did exhaust i ran 2.25 from the manifold back. i dont think it was 2.5"

i ran duel dynomax turbos and have the gt pipes out of the rear...had the exhaust custom made and install at car x.

mluck,

I knew someone that worked at a local muffler place here and he hooked me up with some Flowmasters. I just had them put some slight bends right before the real valence so the pipes do not show that much. I thought about doing what you did and in the future if a GT valance is in teh budget I might modify it to make it fit.

I am real happy with teh sound and appearance, the flowmasters sound real aggressive.

Did you have any major tuning issues with your offy set up? Any advice woudl be appreciated. It seems to be running real strong right now.

Bill

I am adding on Clifford headers next week. I'm debating between DynoMax, Borla, Glasspacks or straight pipes. Which option would produce the best result? I want a loud exhaust without sounding like a Honda when I fly by :)

Also, whats the best way to have the port divider put on? A friend said braze welding would be the best way. Unfortunatley, most of the exhaust shops down here don't braze weld. What other options are there? Also, will I need to buy a gasket to go between the header and the exhaust manifold? Where can I get them from?

Thanks!
Mike

PS- Sorry for interupting your post Colorado 8)

I've run glass packs and they have a mellow sound. I liked it cause it made my six sound like a Jag. But that was a bunch of years ago. I think today I'd go with the Flow masters. They are tough and have a great sound. Depending on the amount of loud you want there is the 2 chamber is LOUD and the 3 chamber more street friendly, but since you're running dual exhaust the 2 chamber may be ok.
