Oiling

I recently replaced the head gasket on my 1966 Mustang with 200. I noticed that it doesn't seem to be getting oil to the rockers. I read on here something about the read head bolt allowing oil to flow through. Did I put the wrong bolt there?

Why do you think you're not getting oil to your rockers?

Unless you dropped something into the oiling port and it is clogged, there really is no way you can block the oiling port with a new head gasket unless it was the wrong head gasket.

Make sure you allow what seems like forever for the oil to get there. If you just crank the engine with the valve cover off or start it for ten seconds there may not be enough time to get the oil "up there". Starting the engine and running it for sixty seconds or so with the VC off should generate the mess you've been looking for. If it doesn't there is something definitely wrong and it should be a knockin'and a rappin' by then.
I do have an aftermarket NOS kit that pipes oil from the pressure switch to a special rocker arm bolt attachment that extends through the valve cover. 8)

Hmmm, did you have lots of oil before changing the head gasket? Is the oil flow cut off completely? (probably the head gasket is on backwards)

Is there much less oil flow? (possibly a chunck of crud is the passage) Did you mill the head significantly?

The stuff about the bolts is in Spykes "Head Question" thread. BUT you can't see the pictures because my web server is down for "maintainence" until last Saturday - Since it doesn't work Saturday must mean Wednesday in Dilbert speak.

It was a Fel-Pro gasket and the front was marked front, so I am pretty sure I got it on right. I don't think the head was milled enough that it could create a problem, so that means I either have a blockage somewhere or I have a bad oil pump.
