Old Rockers

Hi,
when i assembly my 250 back together I made the mistake of putting the old rockers back in everything else was new, lifters, cam now after about 9000 kms is just slowly getting abit noisy not to bad but I can hear it, I took the cover of all the rockers are still tight and oil still getting up into them , would this noise be the rockers or have I damage the lifters by using the old rockers, all the springs look ok

Check the wearing surfaces for damage - that should tell you a bit. Are you sure it's a valve train noise?

I'am pretty sure it is, did a compression test all was fine there , plugs were tan colour, at frist I thought it might have been the fan, but when I put my ear right up close it seems from the rockers. I have had trouble with pinging the last 2 weeks, was running at 10deg change it to 12 degs but still does it only giving it abit up hills
